What Patch 1.0.1 changes

Version 1.0.1 is the first major post-launch balance and quality-of-life update for Yet Another Zombie Survivors following the 1.0.0c hotfix series. The official patch notes focus on lowering friction for mission progression, introducing a bad-luck protection system for quest rolls, refining Survivor and item interactions, and addressing gameplay stability.

Mission pity system and requirement reductions

The standout feature of Patch 1.0.1 is a dedicated pity system for in-run missions. When a mission requires collecting or selecting specific items, each unsuccessful roll now increases the chance for those items to appear on subsequent level-ups or chest rewards. This prevents runs from stalling purely due to random number generation (RNG). In addition, the offer rate for Main Story missions in the Camp has been increased.

Prerequisites for several Survivor missions have been softened:

  • Ranger ("Seeding"): The difficulty restriction has been removed. You can now complete Seeding on any difficulty level rather than being forced into difficulty II or higher.
  • SWAT (Repeatable SOS mission): The required number of SOS Signal Liberations has been reduced from 6 to 5.
  • Ghost ("Compilation"): The SOS Signal Liberation count has been reduced from 5 to 3.

Balance, item tweaks, and status synergies

Several status effects and item behaviors have been upgraded to provide clearer build synergy:

  • Fear Duration: The base duration of the Fear status effect is extended to 2.5 seconds (up from 2.0 seconds).
  • Mouse Trap: Now triggers against both Taunted and Feared enemies, making it much more versatile in crowd-control setups.
  • Ultra Instinct: Damage calculations now properly factor in current damage-type tags.
  • Torment Adjustment: The level requirement for the "Power Leveling" Torment challenge has been significantly lowered from 100 to 60.
  • Coffee Cup: Current stack counts are now visible directly on the in-game HUD.
  • Ranger Adjustments: "Good Boy: Retriever" can now collect tags dropped by Elite Bosses, and both "Repeater Crossbow" and "Flarebolt" can fire bolts independently.

Performance, controls, and bug fixes

Patch 1.0.1 also brings vital technical polish:

  • Restores the PC in-game cursor and adds a "Game Speed 100%" control remap option.
  • Adds an independent "Zombie Volume" audio slider in settings.
  • In Run History, total damage dealt is now cleanly separated by each damage type.
  • Resolves interface freezes on the "Select Area" menu and lockups caused by deaths inside the Bio Lab decontamination zone.
  • Corrects damage-type registration for Ice Turret and the German description for Taser.

How to adjust builds and routes now

If you were previously blocked on unlocking the Ranger or advancing SWAT and Ghost mission storylines, test these objectives again on the default difficulty. The combination of lowered counts and the roll pity system makes these questlines far more consistent. Furthermore, builds utilizing Fear or Taunt gain immediate value from the expanded Mouse Trap trigger window.
