Ranger’s official Version 1.0 identity
Ranger is the ninth Survivor introduced in Version 1.0. The official release calls her a combat-ready veteran and former park ranger who fights with a Crossbow and trusted animal companions. It also says she can boost the Critical and Luck stats of all Survivors and has ways to heal allies. These are the official details currently available for Ranger.

Critical and Luck support, plus ways to heal allies
The release says Ranger unlocks at Survival Level 175. It does not say that a particular map, mode, squad, or item is required for that milestone. Verify the current progress display in-game before planning a route. This page does not add a speculative fastest leveling method.
Crossbow and companion evidence
Crossbow and animal companions are named directly by the official announcement. The source does not state their numerical damage, firing pattern, tags, target logic, or upgrade order. Those details should be read from the current game rather than inferred from a character theme. A weapon path is only useful when it is tied to a version and a live tooltip.
This is particularly important because Version 1.0 changed critical behavior for burst and multi-projectile attacks. The release says one Critical roll now applies to the whole group or all projectiles rather than rolling for each hit. That system note may be relevant to a Crossbow test, but it does not describe a specific Ranger ability. Keep system rules and character-specific evidence separate.
Team support role
The official source describes three kinds of support in Ranger’s overview: Critical, Luck, and ally healing. That makes Ranger a plausible starting point for a role-based squad plan, but it does not name mandatory followers or a best mode. The 1.0 expansion also added four cross-Survivor synergies per character and Rank 5 nodes. The exact current nodes must be checked in the live tree.
Do not turn “boosts all Survivors’ Critical and Luck stats” into a numerical claim. The announcement supplies no value, duration, condition, or stack rule. Use the role to choose what you want to try, rather than expecting it to promise an outcome.
Good Boy and Falcon version note
Version 1.0.0b reduced the frequency of the sound effects for Ranger’s Good Boy and Falcon abilities. This is an official hotfix fact. It does not announce a damage, cooldown, range, or targeting change. The correct conclusion is that their sound-effect frequency was reduced, nothing more.
If a current tooltip shows a mechanical change, check it separately. Do not infer it from an audio line. Good Boy and Falcon have their own ability pages so you can keep the patch note separate from squad advice.
How to use this Ranger page
Unlock Ranger at Survival Level 175, then inspect the current Crossbow, companion, Critical, Luck, and healing text in the game. Choose one goal—team support, a Critical attempt, or an arena run—and note the version, arena, mode, and squad. Do not treat an old community build as an official result. The announcement describes a clear role, not a complete tier list.
For your next step, open Crossbow for weapon information, Ranger Team Support for the current team context, or Ranger Crit Squad Ideas for a focused squad direction. Check the live game for weapon, ability, Rank, and Synergy details that are not yet listed here.
