The official Version 1.0 release introduces Ranger as the ninth Survivor and says she uses a Crossbow alongside animal companions. This is the source-backed connection between Ranger and Crossbow. The announcement also describes Ranger’s team support through Critical, Luck, and ally healing. It does not specify Crossbow damage, tags, upgrade tiers, pierce, cooldown, or branching choices.

Do not fill that gap with a generic ranged-weapon formula. A current weapon guide needs the live tooltip and a versioned test. The Crossbow page is indexed for the official ownership fact, not as a finished damage database. That keeps its scope accurate.

Critical-system context is not a Crossbow stat sheet

Version 1.0 changed how burst and multi-projectile weapon and ability attacks roll Critical chance: one roll now applies to the whole group or all projectiles rather than rolling each hit separately. This system-level change can matter when testing a Critical-focused Ranger squad. It does not prove that Crossbow is burst or multi-projectile in every current state. Do not attach an unverified behavior to the weapon merely because the character can support Critical.

When testing Crossbow, capture its present description, the selected rank or upgrade, the game version, and the target context. Then compare one variable at a time. This creates a usable weapon record without converting an official character overview into false numerical data. It also makes later patch changes easy to trace.
