Yet Another Zombie Survivors: Restore Save Backup

On PC, restore a Yet Another Zombie Survivors save backup from Change Save Slot: select an empty slot, then press T on the keyboard or Y on a controller to import a backup. Use an empty destination so you can check recovered progress while keeping an existing slot available.

Restore through the game menu

1. Update your PC installation. The restore feature is documented in the September 18 1.0.1a announcement and was added in an earlier unnamed hotfix.
2. Open Change Save Slot.
3. Select an empty slot, rather than deleting a slot that still contains progress.
4. Press T with a keyboard or Y with a controller to open the backup import flow. Follow the on-screen choices.
5. Open the recovered profile and inspect your Survival Level, Survivor unlocks and Mission Log before starting a new run.

The controls and empty-slot destination come from the official 1.0.1a notes. This guide uses the game's restore interface; it does not require manually replacing files.

Decide whether this is a missing save or a mission bug

• Everything looks new: check whether you selected a different save slot. Switch back to the profile you normally use before importing anything.
• Level and roster are present, but Antithesis reverted: this is a named completion-state fix in 1.0.1a. Read the mission troubleshooting guide before restoring the whole profile.
• Prologos did not count a Black Box: the Easter Egg route is fixed in 1.0.1b. A mission retry on the updated build is a more targeted first step than replacing a save.
• Multiple progress systems are missing in the correct slot: use the empty-slot restore flow, then compare the recovered profile.

Verify the recovered profile

Check several independent markers: Survival Level, available Survivors, the relevant arena or mode unlock, and recent mission completion. A profile that restores one older milestone may still predate a later run. Keep the original slot until you decide which profile contains the progress you want.

The restore prompt is unavailable

Confirm that you are on PC, that your game is updated, and that the highlighted destination is empty. The official announcement specifically labels this feature PC, so these buttons should not be assumed to apply to PlayStation or Xbox.

If no usable backup is offered, stop before deleting profiles or overwriting files. Report the platform, installed version, affected slot and last known good progress to the developer. Use F8 where available and include an email for a reply. Recovery depends on an available backup; the menu cannot recreate progress that was never saved.
